![]() You really have to be a hardcore fan or an insomniac to be watching this 10 year old game.ģ:23AM: On one hand, it makes sense for ESPN to choose this matchup given Clemson and Georgia play next week. states and territories.ġ1:30PM: Looks like Bedlam and Spindrift's raspberry lime sparkling water is the move.ġ2:00AM: Looking ahead on the Hulu channel guide and ACC Network will simply re-air the "All In" special a few times overnight.ġ2:34AM: I'm starting to fade, but set an alarm to wake up at 3:00am to catch the condensed re-air of the 2009 ACC Championship between Clemson and Georgia Tech.ģ:00AM: So Collinsworth is back on the ACC Network to introduce the 2009 ACC Championship game, explaining it's been condensed for a 2-hour runtime. The first salvo for the panel was whether or not Clemson's Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne would combine for more touchdowns than there are U.S. Those old track suits are fire.ġ1:04PM: "The Huddle" is what you'd expect out of a football-centric studio show, but tip of the cap for the absurd questions. I also need to see more footage of K living the 3-Stripe-Life in adidas. Those candid moments show a side of K that most people don't get to see. Also interesting to me is the footage of Duke fans rushing the court inside Cameron after beating North Carolina because I was told Duke fans don't rush the court (even if they do, just like that time they beat Virginia Tech on a buzzer beater).ġ1:00PM: Really enjoyed the extra footage of K and his former team chopping it up at the dinner table. The doc also proves that complaining about officiating is timeless. Those suits are way better than the bland suits he wears today. He really had an eye for patterns and contrast back in the day. I would like K to bring back some of those suits from the 80s. ![]() This time it's Bedlam with Spindrift's half lemon and half tea.ġ0:25PM: A few stray thoughts on the "The Class That Saved Coach K". The interview with Geoff Collins ended with the head coach yelling "Go Waffle House, go Georgia Tech." Very on brand.Ĩ:59PM: Jac Collinsworth, who is the main studio host for "The Huddle", spoke for all of us when he closed the first ever show on the ACC Network with "look, I'm just ready for football to start."ĩ:00PM: "The Class That Saved Coach K", an ESPN documentary on the important recruiting class that wound up in the 1986 NCAA Championship against Louisville, begins with the obligatory shot of someone driving down the highway meant to represent Tobacco Road.ĩ:10PM: This doc has a ton of footage of empty seats for ACC basketball games in the 1980s, which is weird because iPhones weren’t invented yet.ĩ:20PM: Time for another drink. It's much better than being poorest.Ĩ:47PM: A deep dive into Georgia Tech's football team since they're Clemson's opponent in their ACC Network season opener next week. There is nothing wrong with being third richest. The ACC won't be making as much as the SEC and Big Ten, but they still needed the ACC Network to keep up. This new channel is up there in terms of what it means for stability. The biggest pivot occurred when they expanded with Big East teams. It's another reminder of Swofford's ability to identify a potential threat to the fabric of the conference and adapt. From a media geek point of view, also cool they're using soccer as a way to try new broadcasting technology.Ĩ:27PM: Swofford is being interviewed and highlights the importance of the ACC Network for the future of the conference. Then you have media members and fans who are on a cable system that doesn't carry the ACC Network.Ĩ:02PM: Refreshed my tumbler of ice with Bedlam and Spindrift's cranberry raspberry sparkling water.Ĩ:25PM: ESPN touted their soccer coverage during the ACC Network press rollout and they weren't kidding. Even using Spectrum's online credentials didn't seem to be working on the ESPN app. Unfortunately, Spectrum customers were having a difficult time getting the channel. Some folks are watching on YouTube TV or PlayStation Vue. UNC) end up on the ACC Network as they continue to put pressure on paid television services that aren't carrying the ACC Network.ħ:12PM: Bojangles' commercial in the first break? I'm going to count that as the real official start of the ACC Network.ħ:15PM: Dabo Swinney on the ACC Network to discuss Clemson and I'm just waiting for Paul Finebaum to crash the set like Stone Cold Steve Austin and hijack the interview.ħ:25PM: I'm watching the ACC Network on Hulu Live. Don't be surprised when high profile conference basketball matchups (outside of Duke vs. Tons of time spent promoting Jay Bilas' interview with Coach K, along with sneak peeks of North Carolina and Virginia basketball docs. Former Duke "villian" Christian Laettner was the first guest. 7:10PM: If you needed further proof the ACC Network was going to use basketball as the keystone to the entire operation, they've spent more time on basketball than anything else in their opening segments.
